Frequently asked questions

How do I safely burn my candle?

The first time you are lighting your candle make sure that your wick is only 1/4" long and each time you burn your candle do the same. Keep wax free of matches, wick trimmings or other flammable materials. Burn only on stable heat resistant surfaces for not more than 4 hours at a time. Keep out of drafts. Never burn candles unattended. Discontinue use when only 1/2" of wax is left at the bottom of your vessel. Do not move candle while burning or if wax has melted. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Do you ship outside of Canada?

Sorry, Unfortunately we do not ship outside of Canada!

Are you scents Seasonal?

Yes! Our scents have been created to entice and suit the phase we are currently in; therefore our scent change from season to season. If you have a favorite, make sure to get it prior to the season change. Our candles are released as Spring/ Summer, Fall and Winter collections so you will still have plenty of options. We will also be creating a line that will be available at all times, our Signature Line.

What are your wicks made from?

Our wicks for 99% of our candles are cotton however, on occation, we may have a very special candle that uses a crackling wooden wick. These special wicks offer a very soft crackling while burning and hava a completely different feel to the candle. The flame is small and the wood embers offer a soothing comfort while the crackling talks to your spirit.

Do you give to charity?

Our candle "Greyhound" is our charity candle. $1 from each sale of this particular candle is going to be given to the "Farley Foundation". This foundation helps owners and animals alike. "Greyhoundl" is named after our retired/ rescued greyhound Norman. He is one of the best things that has ever happened to us and we want to share with as many other animals and animal lovers as possible in his name.

Are your candles Phthate free?

Yes! We are happy to say that your candles, wax melts and room sprays are Phthate free.

Why Soy Wax?

Soy wax is derived from a vegetable (soybeans), a renewable resource, is biodegradable and cleans up very easily with soap and water. Another attractive characteristic is tha it has a lower melting point than other waxes, thus lasting longer.

What else is in your candles?

Each candle is hand poured in small batches. Only three ingredients are needed in order to create our candles: 100% pure soy wax, natural cotton wick, and premium fragrance oils. That's it! No dyes, UV inhibitors or chemical additives. Even my packaging is recyclable and the jars and beautiful lids are reusable.

How to prevent tunneling?

When creating my candles I did a lot of testing in order to find the perfect combination of wax to wick and I am thrilled to say that my candles are gorgeously in balance. It is impartant to get a full "melt pool", allowing the melted wax to reach the edges of the jar, especially on the first burn. This will prevent the candle from tunneling on future lightings. Also, keep your wick trimmed to 1/4" at the beginning of each lighting and keep your candle away from drafty windows.

Why have my candles changed colour?

We don't use any chemical stabilizers or additives in our candles and fragrance oils affect the wax colour resulting in a variety of shades from ivory to cream. Other causes that can affect a candles colour to yellow over time are direct sunlight/ heat or direct UV lighting. The good news is, the colour does not change the scent or degrade the candle in any way. So fear not, if this happens, just mellow with your yellow.

Why are there bubbles on the inside of the jar walls?

On occasion you may notice that what looks like an air buble between the wax and the glass occurs. This is purley cosmetic and will not affect the way that your Sweet Pea & Grey Hare candle burns. This can happen because soy wax is more tempurature sensitive than other types of wax and when the candles are exposed to cold, the wax can shrink.

Do you have a store front?
