Frequently asked questions

How do I safely burn my candle?

The first time you are lighting your candle make sure that your wick is only 1/4" long and each time you burn your candle do the same. Keep wax free of matches, wick trimmings or other flammable materials. Burn only on stable heat resistant surfaces for not more than 4 hours at a time. Keep out of drafts. Never burn candles unattended. Discontinue use when only 1/2" of wax is left at the bottom of your vessel. Do not move candle while burning or if wax has melted. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Do you ship outside of Canada?

Yes! We do ship outside of Canada however, we can not control shipping costs any more than we always try to. We do not make money on shipping so if there is a discrepancy in shipping charges you will be issued a refund,

Are you scents Seasonal?

Yes! Our scents have been created to entice and suite the phase we are currently in; therefore our scent change from season to season. If you have a favorite, make sure to get it prior to the season change. Our candles are released as Spring/ Summer and Fall/ Winter collections so you will still have plenty of options.

Do you make Custom Label candles/ wax melts for Special Occation?

Yes! We will create a custom candle for your special event. We work hand in hand with JayBird Digital Arts to create a custom label (Separate cost) and will create a candle that perfectly matches your brand or event! Contact me for details!

Why does my wax look frosty?

Pure soy wax gets a frosty look to it; Like it has been touched by the finger of Jack Frost himself. It can appear on the top of wax melts or candles or within the sides of the glass. We actually love this look and feel it is very unique and individual to your candle. It does not affect your candle in any way other than making it more beautiful and unique... in our opinion.

Why are your candles different colours?

Sweet Pea & Grey Hare chose to make Spring/ Summer candles white and Fall/ Winter candles grey due to show a difference in spirit. In the Spring and Summer we are awakening with life and in Fall and Winter we should be relecting, harvesting and planning for the coming season and we feel grey is a quiet elegant colour that is soothing to the soul.

What are your wicks made from?

Our wicks for 99% of our candles are cotton however we do have one very special candle that uses a crackling wooden wick. "1692" offers a very soft crackling while burning and has a completely different feel to the candle. The flame is small and the wood embers offer a soothing comfort while the crackling talks to your spirit.

Do you give to charity?

Our candle "Bates Motel" is our charity candle. $1 from each sale of this particular candle is going to be given to the "Farley Foundation". This foundation helps owners and animals alike. "Bates Motel" is named after our retired/ rescued greyhound Norman Bates. He is one of the best things that has ever happened to us and we want to share with as many other animals and animal lovers as possible in his name.
